IOSH

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health is the only Chartered body for health and safety professionals in the world. IOSH was founded in 1945 and has been registered as a charity since 1962. In 2002 they were awarded a Royal Charter.

With more than 47,000 individual members working in over 120 countries, IOSH is the biggest professional health and safety organisation in the world.

IOSH works with a range of global organisations to raise awareness and standards, developing training for schools and businesses, and running campaigns that are relevant to millions of working people.

As well as lobbying governments on policy and law, IOSH accredits qualifications for their members, gives guidance, develops resources, and runs courses and events to help organisations in their work. The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) is dedicated to supporting everyone involved in the management of risk.  We are proud to be a collaborative and accessible professional body, run by members for members.  Established in 1975, we are a non-profit making charity with 8,000 members in over 70 countries.   Our members represent all sectors and types of organisations and work in different risk disciplines globally, including safety, health and wellbeing, business continuity, construction, engineering, environment, occupational health and quality management.
